A database is a collection of information that is organized so that it can easily be accessed, managed, and updated. In one view, databases can be classified according to types of content: bibliographic, full-text, numeric, and images.
How database Come into Existence
- Loss of data and problem of destruction.
- Need more space to store these data
- Difficult to find records
- Problems of managing these files
- Difficult to transfer these files
- Difficulty in making backups
After the invent of database these problems finished and government and private institutions use database to store data. They use different software to store data. For the first time they start using traditional file Processing, e.g they start using Microsoft Excel, MS Word etc. It was a good and easier way to store data. But it creates some problems of sharing file in a department in every section. E.g in a University the same data is needed to store in many places like Library, examination hall, Admission section etc and when the data is needed to update or upgrade it is to done on every section therefore it become problem. After that many other software comes in computer market which makes easy and reliable to use. These software include Oracle, Mysql, Sql server etc.
