Special Communication Organization (SCOM)
First ever GSM cellular services in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan were launched by SCO in 2004 with brand name of SCOM.SCOM provides largest network coverage in the area with equal footprint in rural and urban terrain in nearly 450 major cities, towns and villages both in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
SCOM was made for the benefit of people of GB and AJK, the service of SCOM is situated in those mountainous areas where there are no other networks. It is very useful to get connected to other places through mobile and Internet Facilities.
The scom service was very affordable for the people but now a days SCOM, which was made for the benefits of people is changing toward a Business. The rates of calls and sms were on its high priority. The people can't afford the expenses of mobile network. And it was on the way to earning more profit, without looking toward the benefits of people.
Like the SMS was 5paisa/sms changed to 30paisa/ sms.
Since 1 year the people of Gilgit Baltistan are happy that scom is bringing 3G and 4G internet services. But it was just a joke for the people. And the dreams of 4G internet in GB remains just a Dream.
